Vlazhsky salad is a great alternative to our Olivier salad. It is lighter but tastier, try it!

Ahead of us is a series of New Year's holidays, and, as always, every hostess is thinking about drawing up a festive menu. Traditionally, we prepare Olivier for the New Year. This is a hearty and rather heavy salad for a nightly feast. If you want to replace it with something, then I offer you a salad called "Vlazhsky". Some argue that it owes its name to the mint that existed in the Czech Republic several centuries ago. Whether it is true or not, it is not known for certain, but even the Kremlin chefs prepared a salad under this name for our Soviet rulers of the state.

I suggest you try the Vlazhsky salad, and for a festive feast, serve it as a cocktail salad in a bowl, garnished with lettuce leaves. So, let's prepare all the necessary products.

First of all, boil the potatoes in the skins. Be sure to salt the water in which the potatoes are boiled. The cooking time for the salad is indicated taking into account the boiling of potatoes. If you cook it ahead of time, it will take even less time to prepare the salad.

After boiling and cooling completely, peel the potatoes and cut them into cubes.

We shift the chopped potatoes into a large salad bowl, which will contain the whole salad. Now cut the carbonate into thin strips. The carbonade can also be replaced with ham, as long as it is like a carbonade - with a slightly smoked taste and aroma. After cutting, we also send the cut meat to the salad bowl.

Last but not least, cut the cucumbers into strips. It is best to use salad cucumbers for salad, they do not have pimples and a more delicate peel.

We also put the chopped cucumbers in a salad bowl and pour canned peas there. Add some ground black and allspice. We will salt it after adding mayonnaise, if necessary, because we salted the potatoes during boiling, and the carbonade is salty by itself.

Now add the mayonnaise.

We stir our salad, taste it and, if necessary, add salt. Before serving, keep the Vlazhsky salad in a large salad bowl in the refrigerator. Serve, garnished with lettuce leaves. It can be in a small salad bowl.
