There are several cafes in my city where the owners are Americans. And the visitors to these cafes are their compatriots. As a rule, the food in these cafes is simple: french fries, all kinds of burgers and a bunch of salads, richly flavored with mayonnaise.
Of course, the food is not the healthiest one, but, you see, all this is delicious. And then, after all, nobody canceled moderation in everything, including food. Therefore, it is quite possible for yourself to prepare a salad with a fairly large amount of mayonnaise.
I ate a similar salad in one of the cafes that I described above. The combination of products is quite unexpected for the layman, but, believe me, it is very tasty and satisfying.
Potatoes must be boiled in their skins or baked in advance. I prefer the second option. Boil eggs in advance too. And as for the cucumbers, then look along the way. I know that these cucumbers can be very tiny, then, of course, their number must be increased. The same applies to mayonnaise: it can be quite liquid, and it can be quite thick - be guided in the cooking process. It took me about 150 grams.
To prepare American potato salad, we will prepare the products according to the list.
Cut the eggs and potatoes into large enough cubes.
Chop celery, gherkins and onions very finely. We spread it to the potatoes.
Add mayonnaise, salt and pepper.
The American potato salad is ready.
You can eat it right away, but it will be better if it stands in the refrigerator for several hours.
