The French gypsy salad, which became popular after the culinary TV show, came to my taste very much! Despite the fact that I used just an affordable semi-hard cheese, and not parmesan or blue cheeses, which are considered preferable for such a salad.
Pineapples for salad can be either fresh or canned, with grapes preferable to green and seedless varieties. Mayonnaise, if you don't cook it yourself (afraid of using raw eggs, like me …), buy good quality with a fat content of 67% and without any additional flavors, i.e. classic provencal.
Such a fruit salad with cheese, dressed with mayonnaise, and with a light garlic aroma is quite suitable even for a festive table. I have plans to serve it both as an independent dish and with meat or chicken dishes.
For the French gypsy salad, prepare the ingredients as listed.
Pineapple for salad needs cut into small cubes.
Small quiche-mish can be added to the salad whole, and large grapes must be cut into 2-3 pieces.
If the salad is to be served later, place the prepared fruit in a colander to drain the juice. If this is not done, then the prepared salad will be very wet by the time of serving.
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
And garlic - finely or through a press.
Before serving, season the salad with mayonnaise and mix all the prepared ingredients together.
French gypsy salad is ready. Not laborious to prepare and tastes good!
