Tsvikli is a spicy dish of Polish and Western Ukrainian cuisine made from beets and horseradish. It is served as an appetizer, usually for meat, fish, jellied meat and various cuts of meat, but I prefer to eat it with potatoes or rice, sometimes I like to spread it on black rye bread - very tasty.

In the original recipe, they dress only with lemon juice or wine vinegar, but I am not me, unless I add my own flavor to the dish, but I dress with sesame oil or unrefined sunflower. In this form, it seems to me, Zvikli turns out to be more tender and much tastier, and my husband likes it with mayonnaise, but this is already a matter of taste, you can experiment with dressing.

So, we will prepare all the necessary products for preparing a spicy snack.

First you need to boil the beets, I like to bake them in the microwave, this method is the fastest, but you can boil or bake in the oven.

I washed the beets, made several punctures with a knife in each vegetable, placed them in a deep microwave bowl.

Advice! Use small beets for microwave roasting.

Then she tightened it with cling film, put it in the microwave and baked for 10-12 minutes at full power.

When the time is up, do not immediately take out the beets, leave them for 10-15 minutes in the microwave.

The beets were cooled, peeled, and coarsely grated.

Added grated horseradish.

I use a store-bought one, and in season I rub fresh.

Added cumin, sugar, pepper, salt.

Finely chopped parsley.

Spiced with lemon juice and sesame oil.

Mixed well and left for 20 minutes to make all the ingredients "friends".

A spicy beet and horseradish zvikli snack is ready.
