When I was looking for a recipe for Italian salad, I realized that in our latitudes only pasta remained from it. What is not added there - corn, mayonnaise, boiled sausage or chicken. I think that Italian salad cannot be without basil, macaroni, cheese (better than Mozzarella), tomatoes. Here I present my version of the salad with pasta.
Since I didn't have fresh basil, I used Pesto sauce, which already contains basil and Parmesan. Instead of raw smoked sausage, you can take real ham (the one that is cut into thin slices), the composition of the products in any amount. This recipe is for 1 serving if serious and 2 if used as a salad.
We need the following components:
Peel and chop the pepper and celery.
Cut the onion and smoked sausage into thin slices, I have salami.
Combine chopped foods in a salad bowl.
Chop mozzarella or any non-salted, pickled cheese not very coarsely. You can take a soft, neutral cheese. Cut the tomatoes into slices. Add to vegetables in a salad bowl.
Add the aromatic oil to the Pesto sauce and stir. I used basil oil, you can replace it with regular oil. Or simply chop the basil, grind it with a clove of garlic, cheese and butter - you get almost a Pesto sauce.
Boil pasta as written on the package. It is best to use durum pasta.
Combine pasta with vegetables in a salad bowl.
Stir and pour over the sauce. Stir the sauce while eating to make the salad look presentable.
