Capercaillie's nest is a very tasty and therefore popular and beloved holiday salad. The meat ingredients in it are cooked poultry meat (chicken, turkey or game) and ham. Champignons are usually used canned - pickled, but it turns out deliciously with other mushrooms or cucumbers. The potatoes are deep-fried and add a very effective flavor. The salad is made with balls of cheese and egg yolk. The classic salad Capercaillie's Nest is seasoned with mayonnaise, or with a mixture of mayonnaise and sour cream, like any festive dish, it is hearty and high-calorie.
Prepare the ingredients for the Capercaillie Nest salad.
Divide the eggs into whites and yolks. Set aside the yolks and coarsely grate the whites into a bowl.
Add chopped mushrooms.
Cut poultry and ham into cubes, chop the onion (head or feather).
Season with mayonnaise and stir.
Mix yolks with cheese, dill and mayonnaise. If the cheese is not processed, but hard, then grate it very finely.
Stir to form a mass to form the "eggs" into the nest.
Peel the potatoes, chop them into small pieces, dry and deep-fry or semi-deep-fry.
When frying, the potatoes do not need to be stirred, you just need to turn the portions on the other side with a spatula. Lay the finished ruddy potatoes in one layer on a wooden board covered with paper napkins.
Collect the salad. First, put the main mass in a salad dish, make a depression in it, spread the potatoes around.
Sprinkle with chopped herbs in the center and place the yolk-cheese eggs on top of the greens.
The classic salad "Capercaillie's Nest" is ready.
Enjoy your meal!
