Shopska salad is a visiting culinary card in Bulgaria. The basis of the salad is made up of fresh vegetables, but feta cheese gives it a charm. Bulgarian feta cheese is a unique product in itself. Therefore, in order to preserve the versatility of the Shopska salad, it should not be replaced with any other pickled cheese. Although it will also be very tasty with other cheeses, it will not be the same. Vinegar can be added or you can skip it, it all depends on your taste and desire.
Vegetables in the Shopska salad are cut quite finely, and onions are the smallest of all, because here it plays the role of a small addition, and its taste should not dominate.
