fresh cucumbers - 1 kg;
onion - 1 pc;
garlic - 3 cloves;
salt - 1 tsp;
soy sauce - 3 tbsp;
rice vinegar - 2 tablespoons;
hot pepper (dried flakes) - 0.5 tsp;
sesame oil - 5 tablespoons;
sugar - 1 tsp (optional!);
sesame seeds - sprinkle over salad.

Cut fresh cucumbers lengthwise into long slices.
Then cut the cucumbers across into small pieces. Put the chopped pieces in a bowl, add salt.
Let the cucumbers and salt stand for about 20 minutes, then drain the resulting juice (if any). Add thinly sliced onions.
Add rice vinegar, sugar (if using) and soy sauce.
Add chopped garlic and hot pepper flakes.
