Look, someone thought to add one single non-standard ingredient to the recipe, and I literally rediscovered the carrots and raisins as such! The boredom of my entire childhood suddenly turned into an unknown, almost gourmet dish! So what is this miracle ingredient?


Pink pepper is not even a relative of paprika and all kinds of cayenne and allspice. It belongs to the sumach family, its "peas" do not grow inside juicy pods, but in clusters of independent small berries. Pink pepper is made from two similar plants - Peruvian and Brazilian peppers - these same ones, not with pods, but with berries. The spice was known to the pre-Columbian Indians, but they made from it mainly liquid spices or aromatic drinks. In modern cooking, pink pepper is mostly used dry. It's flavorful like normal pod peppers, but not as pungent. Well, and beautiful, of course.

I cannot guarantee that the supplier of ready-made menus S7 made his salad exactly according to this recipe. These are just my guesses how you can achieve everything that I liked their carrots with raisins.

So, for one HOME portion (on the plane, of course, this is much less) it makes sense to take 150 grams. carrots, 15 gr. raisins, lemon or orange, 5 pink peppercorns and a little vegetable oil (simply because carrots without oil - beta-carotene down the drain)! Maybe someone would like to sweeten it more, but I had enough sweetness from raisins. In general, it turns out to be a kind of glorious carrot diet salad, suitable for fasting too. Vitamins in carrots and microelements in raisins … There are solid advantages!

I myself wonder how I could have liked such a healthy dish - usually I somehow prefer everything fat-smoked-sweet. In general, I think that the whole thing was really in this very pink pepper.

Squeeze juice from half a lemon.

Soak the raisins in citrus juice for 1 hour (the sourness in the raisins should be felt distinctly).

Carrots in three thin strips (naturally, those who do not have a vegetable cutter can use a coarse grater, but I have a Burner for Korean carrots, in my opinion, it is just perfect for industrial slicing, isn't it?)

Pound pink pepper with a pestle.

Mix the carrots with crushed pepper and vegetable oil, marinate them while the raisins are saturated with lemon juice there.

Well, and then we catch the raisins from the juice, mix it with the carrots and let everything stand together for another hour (you can do more, under the film - you yourself understand, the airlines serve food not an hour after cooking).

Here we have such a carrot with raisins, bright both in appearance and in taste.
