Unusual interesting dish for connoisseurs of lentils: hearty, nutritious, with a slight mustard flavor!
Green lentils - 200 g
Pickled or pickled cucumbers - 160 g
Apple - 1 pc.
Mustard (in French) - 1.5 tablespoons
Salt - 0.5 tsp
Ground black pepper - on the tip of a knife

I confess, I had doubts even at the stage of acquaintance with the description of the recipe that maybe this interesting dish looks more like a pate or something like vegetable caviar … I decided that I would cook and already more precisely define what a combination of boiled lentils is with cucumbers and apples. Indeed, after cooking, I think you can say in some way that this is a salad. I left it under this name.
I used green lentils, they cook longer than red ones and retain their shape better.
Apple - medium in taste: not very sweet, not sour.
Cucumbers - barrels bazaar, crispy.
Rinse the lentils and cover completely with water, add 0.5 tsp. salt, bring to a boil and simmer for about 30 minutes over low heat, covered. Stir a couple of times to cook the lentils evenly.
Cool the finished lentils slightly. If any excess water remains, carefully drain it off. Transfer the lentils to a bowl.
Add the cucumbers, cut into small slices, and the apple, also cut into "one bite" slices (I removed the skin and core).
Put the mustard, add 0.5 tsp. salt, mix.
Lentil salad with pickles is ready! You can serve it in any way: warm or cold.
