Tomato salad with rice is my old friend who is better than two new ones.
Well, I don’t know more complex salads, or I don’t have ingredients for them? I keep all sorts of recipes in my head, both very simple, and very complex … But if you face the truth, then some of them I cook once in my life, others - about once a year and not every year … I have been preparing a tomato salad with rice for about twenty years, on average, about once a month. Because sometimes it's just too lazy to mess around, but you want to eat. And another time the bins are somehow empty, and there is no time to go shopping. And the third time - there is simply no time to cook, well, there is no time, and that's it, there is no it !!! …
Somehow it turns out that this salad, so elementary that, it seems, it’s even a shame to talk about it, is much higher than all the others in terms of frequency of use. So I decided to show on our website my favorite recipe for tomato salad with rice! Firstly, maybe, after all, who has not tried this. And secondly, so that he (the salad!) Would not be offended that I photograph all the other dishes beautifully, but not him. It's unfair, in general! He brought me so much joy, saved me so many times from hunger (and from unexpected guests) - and no honor and gratitude! It’s not right, it’s not good. Even a salad doesn't deserve this treatment! Now I will present it to you at its best!
For my salad, the rice must be hot, this is essential. With cold it turns out not that. That is, the rice either needs to be cooked fresh, or heated when cooled. I'm boiling basmati in a triple volume of water in the microwave on 800 W for 10 minutes.
Tomatoes are cut into large slices.
Rice has not yet boiled, there is still nothing to do, so tomatoes can be seasoned with sour cream, salt and pepper. The ratio of ingredients is always absolutely arbitrary, as long as they are all available.
Rice cooked? Mix it with tomatoes and dressing while hot. We mix well, check if you need to add salt.
And now I will put my favorite tomato salad with rice in a very beautiful bowl, and even on a slate heart, and even on a lurex tablecloth - and admire it all, how simple, beloved and irreplaceable it is in my life!
