Don't even ask where the name comes from, I don't know, I'm not even sure that Austrians use canned saury in their kitchens. But since the salad "lives" under this name on all culinary sites, let it be there too. As for me, this is the same mimosa, only without carrots. If your family hates boiled carrots in salads (and I know a lot of such families), then cook them an Austrian salad and let them be delicious)
Prepare all the necessary ingredients for the Austrian salad with saury. Boil eggs for no longer than 10 minutes, cool, peel.
Divide the boiled eggs into white and yolk, grate the white, put the first layer on a dish, in which you will then serve the finished salad.
Also grate the cheese, put it in the next layer.
Drain the liquid from the canned saury, remove the ridge, mash the pulp with a fork, put on a layer of cheese.
Grease a layer of fish with mayonnaise, put very finely chopped white onions on it, very cold butter grated on a coarse grater goes to the onion.
Sprinkle the grated yolks over the salad; this will be the last layer of our salad. Cover the dish with cling film and place in a cool place to soak.
Garnish the top of the salad to your liking before serving. "Austrian" salad with canned saury is ready.
