Cheese chips cannot be classified as healthy food, of course, but as a delicacy or decoration for a dish, they are very good.
Many people love baked cheese crust, but here is a solid crust! And it prepares at lightning speed.
But even such a simple recipe has its own nuances and subtleties of preparation.
For example, in order for cheese chips to turn out to be delicate, with appetizing holes, it is necessary to spread the chopped cheese not in a heap, but more flat. I laid out my first batch in small "stacks", and the result was cheese pancakes. Then she laid out the cheese less and more scattered.
Also, don't go far from the oven. It is important to capture the moment when the chips need to be removed so that they are crispy but not burnt.
The temperature in the oven should be high enough so that the cheese not only melts, but also dries a little.
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater and add the Provencal herbs. Stir.
On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, place the grated cheese at a short distance from each other in the form of small "blots" with an area of about 4 cm.
Place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees and bake for about 5 minutes. The cheese will first melt, and then it will lighten noticeably at the edges, dry. We take it out when the chips are as dry as possible, the edges should ideally not darken - this is a sign that the chips have been overexposed. If the middle is soft, spread the cheese more evenly. The center and the edges should be approximately the same thickness.
Remove the finished cheese chips along with a sheet of paper, and put a new sheet of paper with a new portion of cheese on a baking sheet (you can prepare it in advance). When the ready-made chips have cooled and hardened, they must be removed from the sheet and a new portion prepared. And so cook the entire volume of cheese.
