I think not only children love delicious gravies in which you can dip bread. You can prepare a wide variety of gravies, whoever you like: with tomato, with sour cream, with milk, with the addition of wine or broth. Onion sauce for cutlets will certainly appeal to onion lovers, of course)) But not only! Onions in gravy turn out tender, creamy, not at all like boiled ones. Try it and you will be pleasantly surprised! Onion gravy is suitable not only for cutlets, it can be served with meat, and with fish, and with pasta or rice.
For onion gravy, you can take onions, white onions, and shallots. Red onions are fine too, but the sauce will be darker. It's up to you, in any case.
Let's take the food we need and start cooking. You can take vegetable oil, but with butter it is tastier. Nutmeg can be used ready-ground.
Melt the butter in a frying pan and add the finely chopped onion.
Saute the onion until transparent - 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Try not to overcook the onions as this can add bitterness to the gravy.
Add 1 tbsp. flour, mix.
Pepper, salt, add paprika and nutmeg. Mix well again.
Let's add about a glass of water.
Bring the gravy to a boil, stirring constantly.
Add sour cream.
Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for 1-2 minutes. Here we have such an appetizing sauce!
