I am sure that almost every housewife has her own proven recipe for making a tasty and favorite hodgepodge for the whole family. In our family, this is a hodgepodge cooked in chicken broth with several types of sausages and green olives. I add cilantro greens to the hodgepodge, but you can add any other greens. For a more piquant taste, you can add a couple of tablespoons of cucumber pickle or juice from a jar of canned olives to the hodgepodge.
Cook the skinless chicken breast until tender, cool and cut into cubes. Do not discard the broth.
Cut the sausage and sausages into strips.
Fry smoked sausage in a dry skillet, add sausages or cooked sausage and cook for about 1 minute more.
Finely chop the greens.
Cut the pickled cucumbers into cubes.
Cut the onion into half rings.
Fry the onion in vegetable oil until transparent. Add cucumbers and 1 tbsp. l. cucumber pickle.
Add tomato paste, stir and simmer for 2-3 minutes over low heat.
Put sausage, sausages, onions and cucumbers stewed in tomato sauce in boiling chicken broth. Season with salt to taste, add allspice peas, bay leaf and a pinch of black pepper. Cook the hodgepodge for 5-7 minutes. Do not forget to remove the bay leaf from the prepared soup.
At the end of cooking, add the olives. When serving, place a slice of lemon in a hot hodgepodge and sprinkle with fresh herbs.
Enjoy your meal!
