Pea soup in our family has long been one of the most demanded and loved ones. Most often I cook it on good pork bones. But sometimes, when there is no suitable meat, I open the coveted jar of stew and use it instead of meat. And I prefer homemade stew, today it's my turn to open beef stew, which I made a few months ago. Pork stew is also quite suitable, with it the soup will be more rich.
Peas are different - whole or crushed. The cooking time of the soup depends on this; crushed peas are cooked faster. And to speed up the process, the cereals can be pre-soaked for several hours. Today I did not do this, as the decision to cook pea soup with stew was spontaneous.
Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, put them in a saucepan and fill them with water. Add the peas immediately, as the peas will take the longest to cook. If the peas are not crushed, then it is better to pre-soak them in order to reduce the cooking time. Salt and cook for about an hour until the peas are tender (over low heat, covered).
When the potatoes and peas are ready, add the stew.
Immediately we make a sausage from onions and carrots in vegetable oil.
Add the sautéed sauce, bay leaf to the pan and cook for another 7 minutes. Add greens and ground pepper to the finished dish.
Pea soup with stew is ready. Such a dish can be prepared in nature, since it does not require many ingredients, and everything you need is easy to take with you.
