Pea Soup is an incredibly tasty, flavorful and satisfying soup made from simple ingredients. It somehow happened in our family that pea soup in our kitchen is a rarity. But this is not a punishment, but, on the contrary, a reward - they ask me for it. Although I myself am madly in love. And when I have to eat in public catering, I order pea soup from the first courses.
It is prepared very simply. I never soak peas in advance. It is cooked on average for 20-30 minutes. First of all, I set the peas to boil, and at this time I prepare all the other ingredients, so the soup does not take much time for me.
But smoked meats with peas, in my opinion, are the finest combination. The soup is obtained with a surprisingly appetizing aroma and taste. If you have not tried the smoked pea soup yet, try it. Today I will cook a pea soup with a smoked leg.
Prepare the required ingredients.
Rinse peas, add water and put on fire. At the time of boiling, reduce the heat to a minimum and remove the resulting noise. It is convenient to do this with a slotted spoon. Cook until tender: the peas should become soft and crumbly. Cooking time will depend on both the quality of the peas and the quality of the water.
Cut the peeled onions and carrots into small cubes.
Also cut the bell peppers into small cubes. It must first be washed, cleaned of seeds and stalks. Lay out the prepared vegetables when the peas are cooked. Boil for 5-7 minutes at a low boil.
Peel and wash potatoes. Cut into thin strips or cubes, put in a saucepan.
Stir gently and continue cooking over low heat for another 10-15 minutes.
Grind the washed greens.
Put it in a saucepan. And immediately send the smoked leg to the soup. It must first be cut into small pieces by removing the skin. Add salt and black pepper to taste. Remove from heat after 5 minutes.
Pour the pea soup with smoked legs in portions and serve warm. The soup is rich, thick enough, hearty and very tasty.
