Delicious, hearty pea soup cooked in meat broth according to the classic recipe.
Meat - 350 g
Potatoes - 3-4 pcs.
Bulb onions - 1 pc.

Dry split peas - 1 cup

Making classic pea soup is easy. To do this, you need to choose the right meat and prepare peas in advance. We use any meat, you can even smoked, the main thing is on the bone, so that you get a rich broth. For a healthier and less caloric option, I opted for beef.
We soak the peas in the evening or 2-3 hours before the start of cooking. Thus, it will cook faster and will saturate the soup with its taste and aroma.
We select spices and herbs ourselves. In my case, this is salt, black pepper, bay leaf and dill. It turned out very tasty.
As you can see, there is nothing complicated. Try it!
For the classic pea soup with meat, prepare the ingredients according to the recipe list.
Rinse dry split peas thoroughly, changing the water 3-4 times until it is transparent. Soak the peas well and quickly, soak them in clean water for a couple of hours.
Transfer the peas to a cooking pot, add the meat and the right amount of water. Set the pot on fire.
Bring liquid to a boil, then turn heat to low and cook for about 40-60 minutes. During this time, the meat and peas should be completely cooked and soft. During boiling, a lot of foam will appear on the surface, it must be removed. Use a slotted spoon or fine strainer for this.
If you have meat on the bone, take it out and cut it off. We no longer need the bone, but cut the pulp into small pieces and send back to the soup.
Add the diced potatoes to the finished broth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
It will take 10-15 minutes to cook potatoes, depending on the variety. Meanwhile, sauté chopped onions and carrots in vegetable oil. Put the sautéed vegetables in a saucepan and cook for 5 minutes.
When the soup is completely cooked, add the chopped herbs and bay leaf. Wait for the second boil, remove the taste test and remove the pan from heat.
Delicious, hearty, aromatic classic pea soup with meat is ready. Pour it into portioned plates, put a piece of meat in each and serve hot.
