Tomato sauce - 0.5 cups

Today I propose to cook borsch with chicken wings. Each housewife has her own recipe for this everyday first course. Our family loves soups with chicken wings, including borscht. Today I show the basic composition, which, if desired, can be varied by adding other spices, sweet peppers, different types of cabbage, ready-made vegetable dressings. In any case, it will be delicious and different every time.

So, take the groceries on the list.

Cut the chicken wings at the joints, the lower phalanx can be removed, or you can leave it - it is just usually used in soups.

Pour the wings with a small amount of water, bring to a boil over high heat with the lid open, boil for 5 minutes and drain the water, rinse the wings and pan.

Pour the wings with clean water (there will be no foam anymore), put the stems of herbs, onions, a piece of celery, bring to readiness and add the diced potatoes, cook at a slow boil for about 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the dressing: cut the carrots, onions, celery into small pieces.

Simmer vegetables lightly in oil.

Rinse the sauerkraut. If it is very acidic, fill it with hot water and let it stand for a while. I have cabbage in sweet and sour brine, so I just filtered it, if there is a lack of acid, you can add brine to the borscht.

Simmer the beets in a pan separately or take ready-made (beetroot caviar, for example), add to vegetables and add tomato sauce. I have homemade ketchup - it took half a jar, it is not very boiled and tastes sweet and sour, so adjust the tomato component to your taste: if you take ready-made ketchup, you will need less of it, tomato paste - even less because of its concentration.

When the potatoes are cooked, add the sauerkraut and cook the borsch until it is cooked. From the spices I definitely take bay leaves. At the end, we introduce the prepared dressing, warm it up and let it brew.
