I never liked boiled peas in soup, although I really love the soup itself. It turned out that if you cook pea soup with chicken in a slow cooker, you get exactly the dish that I like. Yes, and the whole point of cooking comes down to the fact that the necessary products are sent to the multicooker bowl, and after 40 minutes the hot, aromatic and hearty soup is ready. If the broth is cooked on low-fat chicken breast, the dish turns out to be quite dietary, and in the heat it can be eaten chilled. If you want to make a more rich soup, then use a chicken thigh, drumsticks or soup set.
Prepare all the ingredients right away to make the soup. Vegetables can be peeled and washed beforehand. Rinse the split peas if desired and soak in warm water. You can buy chicken chilled or defrost it in advance, at room temperature.
Cut a medium-sized onion into small cubes. If desired, carrots can be grated or also cut into cubes, cubes. If desired, you can set the "Frying" mode on the multicar, pour vegetable oil into the bowl and fry the vegetables for 5 minutes, stirring.
Cut off all excess from a piece of chicken - usually excess fat, cartilage, skin, bones. Cut the meat into small pieces.
Cut the peeled and thoroughly washed potatoes into cubes or sticks. It is better to use a variety that does not boil too quickly.
Send chopped vegetables, chicken pieces, and thoroughly washed split peas to the multicooker bowl.
Fill everything with a little water. Be sure to add salt, spices, optionally dried herbs. For example, thyme, basil, but not too much.
Close the lid of the multicooker and set the Soup mode for 40-45 minutes. After the beep from the multicooker, the pea soup with chicken can be left in a closed bowl for another 20 minutes, with or without heating.
Pour hot and delicious pea soup into bowls, garnish with fresh herbs and serve.
Enjoy your meal!
Important additions to the recipe
If you want soft boiled peas, you can start cooking them earlier, along with the chicken. And add the rest of the products after half an hour and cook for another half hour all together.
