Children's soup with meatballs is the best option for a hot meal for lunch. Children do not particularly like to eat other soups or borscht, but many of them love soup with meatballs. If desired, many add to such a dish some kind of cereal or noodles, pasta to make it more satisfying. If you decide to do the same, then take into account the cooking time for cereals or pasta so that it does not exceed the cooking time for sliced potatoes - 15-20 minutes. I cook in small portions, so for a large family, increase the rate of ingredients several times.
Minced meat can be of any kind: pork, beef, lamb, chicken or mixed - choose it according to your taste. The only important note is that it must be fresh and chilled. If you do not have time to beat it, then add the protein of a chicken or quail egg to it so that the blanks do not fall apart during cooking.
So, get the ingredients you need to make the kids meatball soup and let's start cooking!
Peel the potatoes, rinse in water. Cut into medium cubes and place in a saucepan. Pour in warm water and place the container on the stove. Bring liquid to a boil, skim off the foam, and reduce heat to moderate. Boil for about 10 minutes. While the potatoes are boiling, beat the minced meat thoroughly. Take it in your hand and throw it with all your strength into a bowl, then repeat these manipulations for about 5 minutes, at least. The air will come out of the minced meat, the minced meat sticks together and does not disintegrate during cooking.
Peel the onions and carrots, rinse in water. Chop the onion into small cubes, and grate the carrots with fine cells, add to the pan. If your child is not capricious and calmly eats both onions and carrots in soup, then you can cut carrots in the same way as onions. Boil for about 5 minutes.
Wet your hands in water and make round meatballs from the minced meat.
Pour salt and ground black pepper, bay leaves into the soup. Place the meatballs in it, one by one, while simmering on moderate heat. Remember that heating should be moderate!
Boil the soup for 7 minutes. Then chop the washed dill and add to the pot. You can replace dill with parsley. Heat the dish for another 2-3 minutes and turn off the heat.
Pour the meatball soup into deep bowls and let it cool slightly, and then bring the homemade ones to the table.
