The soup takes about 35-40 minutes to cook, but it is the hearts that take the longest to boil - otherwise they turn out to be very tough and impossible to chew. If you have free time, I recommend draining the first water after boiling. This means: pour the washed hearts, bring the water to a boil and boil for about 5 minutes, and then drain - this will remove most of the antibiotics that are stuffed with broiler chickens. For lack of free time, just soak the hearts in cold water for at least 20-30 minutes.
Use any kind of rice to your liking, but it is easier to add steamed cereals - they cook for about 12-15 minutes. Remember that the rice in the soup will swell several times, so pour in a little more liquid so that after cooling down you will not get rice porridge in the pan.
So, get the ingredients you need ready and start cooking!
Rinse the hearts, soak, put in a saucepan. Add bay leaves. If you drain the water, add the leaves after.
Pour in hot water and boil the hearts for about 20-25 minutes, removing the resulting foam. At this time, peel potato tubers, carrots and onions and rinse. Cut the potatoes into medium cubes and add to the pot. Rinse the rice and add to the container as well. If some of the water has boiled away, add more.
Cut the onions into small cubes, and grate the carrots with small cells. Add to container. Season with salt and seasonings, spices - to taste. Boil for about 12-15 minutes.
Add chopped greens 2 minutes before cooking: dill, parsley, etc. Taste the soup.
Turn off the heat and pour the hot into bowls. Serve with sour cream or other sauce, bread.
Enjoy it!
