For a long time I wondered what this fish soup with milk tastes like? It always seemed to me that these are completely incompatible ingredients.
Soup with milk and fish is a Scandinavian dish, and in general, the option with cream is much more popular than with milk, but the latter is also the case. The peculiarity as such is only in the fact that the milk component is poured into the broth at the end of cooking, sometimes it is pre-fried with butter and flour. This option is also possible: boil the fish in milk, and do not add vegetables at all. In general, like any other dish, the soup has many variations.
Today we will prepare the so-called Finnish soup with pink salmon. Let's take canned fish, instead of cream - a more ordinary and familiar component - milk. From vegetables only onions and potatoes. As well as fresh herbs and spices. The universal seasoning is convenient in this case, because it includes salt and pepper, and dried spices, and starch, which will slightly thicken the broth. The ingredients are ready, let's start cooking.
Cut the potatoes into small cubes.
We cut the onion in the same way.
We put vegetables in a pot of boiling water, cook for 10 minutes.
At this time, take out the pink salmon from the jar, divide it into smaller pieces with a knife, or knead it with a fork.
We shift the fish to vegetables, if desired, pour liquid from canned food into the broth. Bring to a boil, cook for a couple of minutes.
Pour milk into the soup, add spices.
Bring the soup to a boil and cook for another 5 minutes. Then we insist under the lid for another 10 minutes, so that the taste of the dish becomes richer.
