I propose to cook delicious red borscht with beets without meat for your homemade dinner. Surely, each hostess has her own secrets and subtleties of cooking. I want to share my recipe for making red borscht.
For lean red borscht with beets, use these foods.
First of all, I rinse the beans and fill them with cold water for 5-6 hours. Then I drain the water and boil until tender in a separate saucepan.
I pour about two liters of water into a saucepan for cooking borscht. I add the grated beets and send them to the fire. Cook over high heat until the water becomes clear. It takes 20-30 minutes in time. To make the borscht red, you need to boil the beets well.
When the beets are well boiled, I add the chopped potatoes. I put it on fire and bring it to a boil. I cook for 8-10 minutes.
Then I add chopped cabbage. Again, I bring it to a boil. I cook potatoes and cabbage until soft.
While the vegetables are being prepared, I am frying. Fry chopped onions and grated carrots in sunflower oil until the vegetables become soft. Add tomato paste, mix well and fry for another 5 minutes. Turn off the heat and add the chopped leeks and the crushed garlic cloves.
I add ready-made beans, frying in a saucepan. I stir. I add boiled water to the required volume. Season with spices. I bring to a boil and cook for 8-10 minutes over low heat.
At the end I add the chopped greens and turn off the heat. Red borsch with beets is ready.
