Canned tomatoes without salt - 200 g

Paprika - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Dill - 20 g
Water - 1.8 L

I really like simple but tasty dishes. Barley soup without meat is one of those in my opinion. Even a beginner can easily handle it. This soup is relevant at any time of the year, especially for people who adhere to vegetarian and vegan diets and fasting. Well, for non-fasting and non-vegans, I can suggest adding sour cream when serving if desired.
We will prepare the necessary products.
First of all, pour water into a saucepan and set it to boil. Until the water boils, dice the potatoes.
Finely chop the onion.
Grate the carrots.
Put washed pearl barley into boiled water.
Then put the potatoes.
And we also send onions with carrots. And cook the soup for about 20 minutes.
Then add canned tomatoes (I have homemade ones).
Add paprika and turmeric.
Put the bay leaf, as well as salt and pepper to taste. And we cook our soup until tender (about 5-10 minutes more).
Before serving the soup, cut the green flavored dill.
