The Bacon Green Pea Soup is made up of just three main ingredients - frozen green peas, potatoes and bacon. And this, you know, from the point of view of taste, is quite enough. In a sense, no herbs or frying is needed there anymore, except perhaps add salt and pepper to taste. Because the main flavor of this soup is bacon! Combined with the sweet taste of green peas, this is a bombshell! Potatoes - purely to add thickness to the puree soup, it does not affect the taste at all. You can, of course, take smaller peas, but then the soup will be thinner. In my opinion, the ideal ratio is how much water, so much peas (weight before defrosting).

The secret ingredient is soda. If someone, I apologize, "gasps" a lot from peas - add a pinch of soda to the soup, this greatly reduces its "musicality".

In order to save time, we first set the water to boil.

We clean, cut it smaller (to cook faster) and throw potatoes into the water. Cook until soft. Minutes 20-25.

Towards the end of cooking, cut the potatoes into cubes with a side of 1.5-2 cm bacon.

Add peas to the finished potatoes, add a pinch of soda, bring to a boil and cook for a couple of minutes.

We begin to fry the bacon in a still cold frying pan, without preheating. This makes it easier to get not crispy, but lightly fried bacon.

We puree the soup.

We put fried bacon into the soup (without the melted fat, then you can fry something else tasty with this fat!).

And only after the bacon has been introduced and mixed, you can check how much salt and pepper you still need.

As you can see, the green pea soup with bacon is thick.

And, of course, very beautiful and bright in color - like all dishes with green peas.
