We can say that mashed potatoes are a classic dish. It goes well with both meat and fish dishes and vegetable salads. Making mashed potatoes with milk and butter is very simple and you don't need any special preparation. According to my recipe, you will make mashed potatoes with milk in 30 minutes - just do everything as described below.
Wash and peel the potatoes. If the potatoes are large, just cut them in half to cook them faster.
Pour a pot of water, put the potatoes in there and put them on the stove over medium heat. After 10 minutes, add salt to the potatoes, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and cook until the potatoes are soft (you can check, for example, with a knife).
When the potatoes are done, drain the water and crush them well. For this I use the device that you can see in the photo (purchased in Ikea) - it's something like a garlic crusher, only for potatoes.
Place a pot of crushed potatoes over low heat, pour milk into the pot and add butter. While you are heating the mashed potatoes, stir until the oil dissolves. Then the mashed potatoes with milk and butter can be served.
