Memories flooded in as we kids made fires and then baked potatoes in the ashes. Slices of bacon were pricked onto sticks, which were fried over the fire. Throwing hot potatoes from hand to hand, burning fingers, blew on the potatoes, cooling them. Hands and faces were stained with ash, but how delicious it was! Favorite and incomparable delicacy.
I really wanted to repeat my favorite childhood recipe. Of course, now there is no such possibility, but still a recipe was found that repeats a favorite recipe from childhood. Due to bacon, potatoes are not dry, with the aroma of spices and onions. I advise you to cook!
So, let's prepare the products for cooking potatoes baked with lard and onions in foil. You will need very little of them: potatoes, onions, bacon and salt. Add your favorite spices if desired.
I strongly advise: take only friable potatoes. We clean and wash the potatoes. Peel the onion.
Cut the bacon into slices 0.5 centimeters thick.
Cut the onion into slices.
Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise and spread the bacon in half of the potatoes.
Put onion circles on the second half of the potatoes.
Combine two halves of potatoes: one with onions, the other with bacon. Salt. If you have any favorite spices, sprinkle with them and wrap them tightly in foil with the matte side inward, and the shiny side up. We send it to an oven preheated to 180 degrees.
I baked for 1 hour. You are guided by your oven. Taste the readiness of the potatoes with a toothpick. Pierce if ready, then the toothpick will gently enter the potatoes.
Cut the finished potatoes along with a knife without removing the foil, and fill the cut with what you like - sour cream, or butter, or yogurt. You can sprinkle with paprika, dill.
Enjoy your meal!
