Hawaiian Blend is a beautiful side dish with rice, corn, green peas and bell pepper. Or even not a side dish, but an independent dish. This is purely vegetarian, so it is also good for lax days of fasting. In Russia, the Hawaiian blend has gained popularity in the form of freezing. But it is not sold everywhere. But the Hawaiian mixture is absolutely elementary to prepare yourself at home, and it will be even tastier than the purchased one! Well, at least I think so.

Boil the rice in a large (fivefold in comparison with rice) volume of water, slightly salted, for 13 minutes from the moment of boiling. If you add a dash of curry, it will give the rice a beautiful golden color without affecting the taste.

While the rice is cooking, we need to prepare the rest of the ingredients. Soak green peas (if frozen) in boiling water. Then drain the boiling water.

We cut the pepper.

Fry the pepper very lightly in vegetable oil, and leave it to simmer in this oil over low heat or even in the residual heat of a frying pan. This is what you cannot do with the ready-made mixture - it is impossible to enrich the oil with the pepper flavor there.

Drain the rice.

We mix all the ingredients in a frying pan, salt and pepper to taste, heat everything together for just a couple of minutes.

We get a very beautiful and tasty side dish.

I don’t know if the Hawaiian blend has any real relation to Hawaiian cuisine, but it hurts too bright and sunny in her colors, right to the eye!
