Ingredients
Cabbage - 0.5 head of cabbage
White onion - 1 pc.
Potatoes - 4-5 pcs.
Dried small mushrooms - 15-20 pcs.

The recipe for the traditional side dish of potatoes, cabbage and mushrooms. Most often, such a side dish is prepared in late autumn or winter. It is filling and consists of the simplest foods that are always at hand. You can take absolutely any dried mushrooms for this dish that you managed to prepare since the summer or your favorite ones, which you most often buy. If desired, you can add garlic to the dish for flavor or bay leaf, you can also add a little tomato sauce or paste diluted in water.
To cook stewed cabbage with mushrooms and potatoes, take the necessary products. Peel the onions and potatoes, wash all vegetables under running water.
Pour boiling water over the dried mushrooms, cover and let them swell for several hours.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, squeeze the mushrooms (do not pour out the water in which they have been all this time), fry the mushrooms until golden brown. Cut large mushrooms into four parts.
Add chopped onions, fry with mushrooms for 5 minutes.
Cut cabbage into thin strips, fry together with mushrooms and onions for 5-7 minutes.
As soon as the cabbage becomes slightly soft, immediately add the potatoes, stir, turn the heat down, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Pour in the water from the mushrooms, lightly salt, pepper, add a little vinegar for acid if desired. Simmer over low heat until potatoes are cooked through. Garlic and bay leaves can be added at this stage.
When the potatoes are completely cooked, chop the herbs, sprinkle the vegetables with it, salt and pepper if necessary, stir, turn off the stove.
Serve stewed cabbage with mushrooms and potatoes as a side dish or as a separate dish.
