This side dish is very aromatic and with an extraordinary taste, it will perfectly complement chicken or meat dishes. Quince stewed with onions gives the rice side dish a special piquancy. I am sure that having tried this side dish once, you will certainly want to repeat it. If you use water instead of meat broth in a garnish, then this dish can be successfully served in a fast or on a vegetarian table.
For cooking we need basmati rice, quince, onions, meat or chicken broth, olive oil, turmeric and salt.
Cut quince and onion into small cubes.
Heat oil in a frying pan and simmer onion and quince for about 10 minutes.
Rinse the rice, add it to the pan and pour over the broth. Season with salt and turmeric. Cover and cook over low heat until rice is tender.
Then turn off the fire and let the dish brew for about 10 minutes.
Rice garnish with quince is ready!
