To get really fried boletus with potatoes, I propose to fry them separately, and the onions too - separately. You can do it all together, but then cooking the dish will more resemble stewing, especially if the number of servings is supposed to be more than two. In general, we fry all the ingredients at the same time, but separately!
I use fresh butter for this option during the season, and pre-frozen fried boletus throughout the year.
I live in the city, but on the outskirts. Butterlets grow almost near my house, and more noble mushrooms can be picked within walking distance.

Cut the potatoes into slices of the desired size, I prefer the option when the potato slices are large.
Fry the potatoes in vegetable oil until tender and golden brown.
Chop the onion coarsely, fry and sweat in vegetable oil to the desired degree: until soft or leaving a crunchy onion.
Combine ready-made butter, potatoes and onions, salt to taste and stir.
Fried boletus with potatoes are ready.
This is a very tasty self-sufficient dish, but if you wish, you can serve butter with potatoes and as a side dish for meat or chicken. Sauces are also not required, but cold sour cream is personally relevant to me.
