Mash is a variety of beans widely used in oriental cuisine, in particular Indian, Pakistani and others. It consists of small peas of a dark green color. The mung bean contains a huge amount of vegetable protein, which allows it to be well absorbed by our body. It also contains a lot of phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium. Mung bean is rich in vitamin C, it contains more of it than vegetables.
In our kitchen, mung bean is still a rarity, but I propose to start your acquaintance with a simple dish that you will certainly like. It will also become relevant for vegetarians while fasting. In addition, you can easily diversify your daily menu with this dish.
To prepare this dish, we need rice, mung bean, various spices and salt.
Rinse the mash, cover with cold water and cook until half cooked for about 30 minutes.
Rinse the rice, add water and bring to a boil. Stir, reduce heat and simmer under a closed lid for 15 minutes.
Heat oil in a frying pan, add bay leaf and all dry spices. Large spices should be ground in a mortar (cloves, cumin).
Add rice and mung bean to the pan, salt and mix well. Cover and cook for 10 minutes. Then add chopped garlic.
Leave the dish for 10 minutes and serve.
