Greek people with mushrooms are a delicious dish for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Buckwheat - 150 g

Champignons - 100 g

Bulb onions - 2 pcs.

Chicken egg - 1 pc.

Flour - 1-2 tbsp. l.

Breadcrumbs - 2 tbsp l.

Parsley or dill - for serving

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetable oil - for frying

Step by step recipe with photo

In my family, Greek people are very respected, but only those that I cook with mushrooms. I know that some housewives cook mushroom Greek women with the addition of minced meat, but I don't do it myself - it seems to me that the presence of mushrooms in them already makes them a fairly satisfying dish.

Prepare all products for Greek people.

Pour buckwheat with 1.5 cups of boiling water, add 0.5 tsp. salt and cook the cereals over medium heat for 10-12 minutes. Then reduce heat to low and cook porridge for another 5 minutes - until the liquid has completely evaporated. After that turn off the fire, cover the pan and leave the porridge to “steam” for 10 minutes. Let the porridge cool slightly.

You can also use the boiled buckwheat left over from another dish.

While the buckwheat is cooling, remove the foil from the mushroom caps and cut the mushrooms into small cubes.

Cut the onion into cubes.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry mushrooms and onions for 10-12 minutes over medium heat, until all the liquid has evaporated. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Transfer the fried mushrooms with onions to the cooled buckwheat.

Stir everything. Add the egg.

Stir again and add salt and pepper if necessary. Add flour. You may need more or less flour: if they do not hold their shape well when molding Greek people, add more flour.

Form the Greek people from the resulting mass.

Dip all Greek people in bread crumbs.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the buckwheat first on one side for 5 minutes.

Turn them over and fry the same amount on the other side.

Greek people with mushrooms are ready!
