Ingredients
  

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 oz packet dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices bacon cooked and crumbled
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 0.25 cup chopped green onions
  • 8 brioche buns or other sturdy buns

Method
 

Slow Cooker Instructions
  1. Place chicken breasts, chicken broth, and ranch seasoning in the slow cooker. Top with the block of cream cheese.
  2. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours or HIGH for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  3. Remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker.
  4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions until the cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
  5. Spoon the mixture onto toasted buns and serve immediately.

Notes

Toasting Buns: For best results, butter the inside of your buns and toast them in a hot skillet until golden brown before adding the filling.
Make-Ahead: The chicken mixture can be made up to 2 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator. Reheat gently on the stovetop before serving.
