Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for brushing
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup cranberry pepper jelly
  • 1/4 cup fresh cranberries finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary finely chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Knife

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Slice the baguette into ½-inch thick rounds. Arrange the slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  2. Lightly brush each slice with olive oil. Bake for 5-7 minutes, or until they are lightly golden and crisp. Let them cool slightly.
  3. Spread a generous layer of softened cream cheese onto each toasted baguette slice.
  4. Spoon a small amount of cranberry pepper jelly over the cream cheese. Sprinkle with finely chopped fresh cranberries and a little fresh rosemary. Serve immediately.

Notes

Cheese Variations: Try using creamy Brie or tangy goat cheese instead of cream cheese for a different flavor profile.
Make-Ahead Tip: Toast the baguette slices up to a day in advance and store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
