Ingredients

  • 2 14-ounce packages Lil' Smokies drained
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water

Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan or Slow Cooker
  • 1 Whisk

Method

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ketchup over medium heat.
  2. Add the drained Lil' Smokies to the saucepan and stir to coat them completely in the sauce.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the smokies are heated through.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water to create a slurry. Pour it into the saucepan and stir continuously. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened to a beautiful glaze.
  5. Serve hot with toothpicks and an optional garnish of sliced green onions or sesame seeds.

Notes

Slow Cooker Method: Whisk sauce ingredients in the slow cooker, add smokies, and cook on LOW for 2-3 hours.
Add a Kick: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a teaspoon of sriracha for a little heat.
