Ingredients

  • 14 ounces smoked sausage such as kielbasa, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
  • 2 large sweet potatoes peeled and cubed into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large head broccoli cut into florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional

Equipment

  • 1 Large Rimmed Baking Sheet
  • 1 Small Bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). On a large, rimmed baking sheet, toss the sliced sausage and cubed sweet potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Arrange the sausage and sweet potatoes in a single layer. Roast for 20 minutes, flipping halfway, until sweet potatoes begin to soften.
  3. While the sausage and sweet potatoes are roasting, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl.
  4. Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Add the broccoli florets to the pan. Drizzle the honey garlic glaze over everything and toss gently to combine.
  5. Return the pan to the oven and roast for an additional 10-12 minutes, until the sweet potatoes are tender, the broccoli is tender-crisp, and the sauce has thickened and caramelized. Serve immediately.

Notes

Tip 1: For easy cleanup, line your baking sheet with parchment paper before starting.
Tip 2: Ensure the sweet potatoes are cut into uniform pieces for even cooking.
Tip 3: Don't overcrowd the pan. Use two sheet pans if necessary to ensure everything roasts properly.
