Ingredients

  • 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets skin-on or skinless
  • 2 tbsp olive oil extra virgin
  • 1/4 cup fresh dill chopped
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced, plus another for slicing
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Small mixing bowl
  • 1 Parchment Paper

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, chopped fresh dill, lemon zest, lemon juice, and minced garlic.
  3. Season the salmon fillets generously on all sides with salt and black pepper.
  4. Spoon the lemon dill mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet. Top each fillet with a few thin lemon slices.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C) at its thickest part.

Notes

Do not overcook: Check salmon at the 12-minute mark to ensure it remains tender and moist.
Use fresh ingredients: For the best and brightest flavor, use fresh dill and fresh lemon juice.
