Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 oz packet taco seasoning or 2 tablespoons homemade
  • 1 oz packet dry ranch seasoning mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend or cheddar cheese
  • Optional toppings: sour cream, diced tomatoes, cilantro

Equipment

  • 1 Large Skillet
  • 1 Mini Muffin Tin (24 cups)

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a 24-cup mini muffin tin with non-stick spray.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the taco seasoning, dry ranch seasoning mix, and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-5 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
  4. Gently press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup. Bake for 5 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Remove the tin from the oven. Fill each wonton cup with the taco meat mixture.
  6. Top each bite generously with shredded cheese. Return to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the wonton edges are golden brown.
  7. Let cool for a minute before removing from the muffin tin. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Tip 1: For extra crispy wonton cups, lightly spray the edges of the wrappers with cooking spray before the final bake.
Tip 2: Feel free to substitute ground turkey or chicken for the ground beef.
Tip 3: These can be reheated in an air fryer at 350°F for 2-3 minutes to restore their crispiness.
